Easy Living

One of my favorite features that I’ve written for Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles is the cover story for our April 2019 issue: this dreamy Alys Beach home designed by the lovely Melanie Turner Interiors. Now, in June, this project is giving me all the beach-y vibes that I crave in summer. Find the full story here. Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite inspiring spaces (photos were shot by the talented Mali Azima)

I love the texture the chandelier (which Melanie sourced from Bali) and the pouf give to this entryway. And hello, palm leaf!

These light fixtures ARE EVERYTHING. I love the organic vibe they provide, along with the ceiling beams and barstools.

If this was my home, I think I’d spend a good bit of time curled up in this living room with a good beach read. They look like doors, but it’s actually a pair of retractable windows that open up to the courtyard pool.

The Ultimate Taco Tuesday

In observation of Cinco de Mayo, I decided to switch things up this week.

Check out the Taco Tuesday Spotify playlist I made with Kristin.

A recipe: Margarita Jell-O Shots

1 box lime Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup tequila (cold)
1⁄4 cup triple sec (cold)
Mix the Jell-O and boiling water, stirring vigorously until all the Jell-O powder is dissolved. Add the alcohol. Pour into shot glasses and refrigerate overnight. You're welcome.

Then, a mini review

Holy Taco: A new favorite. Not only because the patio is ideal for dining al fresco, but also because their catfish tacos hit every nail on the head: crispy fish, a flavorful chipotle mayo sauce and an accent topping (Mexican slaw) that doesn't overpower either of the first two ingredients.  Margs: pretty tasty. Chips & salsa: Good chips. Nice salsa. Price: Right.
Overall: 9/10

Finally,happy cinco de mayo

I'll be spending the evening listening to the above playlist, making margaritas and ingesting too much sodium at El Taco.
